Overall I don't mind being alone, I can always handle the intake no matter how packed the store was. When this was reported to management, nothing was ever done. Also some girls I worked with were very unsanitary and would leave dirty tissues all over register along with food and leftover particles. I've worked with co workers who would never help with stock or cleaning unless management directly instructed them too. When I finally moved further out east into long island, the commute combined with working hours just wasn't plausible anymore.Īnother thing I noticed with management was that due to us being so short staffed, they were literally hiring anyone just to fill the store. I used to live 5 minutes away from the airport, and even then it was difficult. If you do however, I do not recommend it. If you have no responsibilities and no other work/school related engagements, go for it. I reccomend this position for those who live close, and don't have much else to do outside of work. There were days where I worked an entire shift by my self, with no one to relieve me for a break. Especially when you are extremely short staffed and you are the only one in the store for 4-5 hours at a time. Coming in at 5 in the morning, and closing shifts lasting until 3 in the morning is very hard and no easy chore. These hours were one of the major reasons why i had to leave. Until you work the hours of retail in JFK, you haven't worked at all.
